I am wondering whether there is an issue with my enforcing public key authentication with password login disabled disrupting the reverse tunnels somehow, or if I am overlooking a procedural step, or otherwise am making a stupid mistake someplace. ![]() She gets a command line prompt from my computer on her end, but on my end, when she tries to afp://localhost:50548 or vnc://localhost:55900 to get back into her machine, the connections are denied. So, on her apartment's iMac, my thought was that she would So my thought was that if she were to ssh into my computer with reverse port tunnels for AFP and VNC connections before she left her apartment, then once she got over to my place, she could just afp://localhost and vnc://localhost to connect back to her iMac. But, the landlord is not willing to alter the apartment's router configuration so she can't port forward connections through the landlord's router to her iMac. She wants to be able to AFP and VNC from my computer back to hers, when she is visiting me. My daughter lives in an apartment that provides wireless internet access courtesy of the landlord. Having problems making something work, hoping somebody can tell me what I am overlooking, and what I need to do to rectify the situation so that it starts working. ![]()
